You do the typical thing where you juggle cooldowns of hero powerups, and you need to keep an eye on 'back line' control points which are being attacked on a regular basis. I had no problem positioning things where I wanted them. The controls of the individual 'unit groups' is great, and unlike some people I really like the way you drag to move them around. Under the command of one gargantuan super-robot, the peripheroids make sure trespassers get a proper welcome. It is a nice idea, basically you grind across a landscape and take control points and then push forward with whatever combo of units you so choose to do so with. Several parsecs away from other celestial bodies, the isolated fortress-like planet of Ascendaar is home to intelligent machines built to defend their territory. After basically creating the modern tower defense genre, Ironhide went away, had a think, then came back and essentially. It’s a chunky, cartoony real-time strategy game, it’s set in space, and it features napalm rockets. It has the incredible/cute gfx one would expect, and going in I wasn't expecting another tower defense game - so don't think I am judging it on that. Iron Marines is the mobile RTS that we've been waiting for, and it's a little bit brilliant. In my opinion, Iron Marines just flat out sucks. I have played through every KR game at least a dozen times from scratch.
